Monday, January 21, 2002 at 7:00 pm at United Congregational Church in Worcester
Workshop with Max Miller about postludes that are effective and are pieces with integrity, but can be prepared with limited practice time. Also, people can bring their own ideas and problems about service music on the organ and we will discuss them. Max Miller, PhD, FAGO, was organist and choir director of Boston University's Marsh Chapel for 35 years and served as Chairman of the Organ Department and as Academic Dean of the School for the Arts. He is nationally known as a respected teacher and writes the "Dear Uncle Max" column for "The American Organist". The workshop is free for Worcester Chapter members and $5.00 for non-members. Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Pakachoag Church, UCC in Auburn - An improvisation workshop with Peter Krasinski about improvising for worship and free improvisation on a given theme. Peter Edwin Krasinski is currently Organist at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Providence Rhode Island and Beth El Temple Center Synagogue in Belmont Massachusetts and is Director of Choral Arts and Music at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. He holds both a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Organ Performance, and the Master of Sacred Music degree from Boston University. In 1998 he won second prize in Improvisation in the American Guild of Organists National Competition in Denver. He has studied composition and improvisation with Naji Hakim at l'Eglise de la Sainte-Trinité, interpretation with Marie Langlais at l'Eglise Sainte-Clotilde, and also played and conducted for services at the American Cathedral in Paris. Daniel Zaretsky, organist from St. Petersburg, Russia, will present a lecture on organ music in Russia followed by a concert at 8:00. Admission is free.

Friday, April 26, 2002 at 7:00 pm , Location to be announced- A workshop about organ maintenance by Bill Czelusniak of Celusniak et Dugal, Inc. Invite your organ students to attend this workshop with you!

Monday, May 20, 2002 at 6:00 pm - This is the date for our annual meeting, dinner, and Scholarship recipients' recital.
