GB fills in the outlines between art and architecture in Schematically Inclined. At a time when contemporary artists have taken "space" as their inspiration, this group exhibition makes room for the process of thinking about atmosphere. GB showcases art and architecture with a presentation of fine art and architectural drawings, models, and other schematically inclined works.

Boston's only art & architecture firm brings home the art-of-architecture and the architecture-of-art DAVIS SQUARE - At a time when many contemporary artists have taken "space" as their project GB fills in the outlines between art and architecture with Schematically Inclined. This group exhibition makes room for the relationship between art and architecture by presenting works that borrow, or refer, to the language of design. Internationally known and local emerging artists present fine art and architectural drawings, models, installation and other schematically inclined works.

For many artists the creative process may include schematic drawings or plans for sculpture and installations, however, there are those who are inspired the language of design itself. Whether focused on topographic maps, circuitry schematics, architectural drawings, flow charts, or other graphs of data the artists of Schematically Inclined are thinking about the way in which we represent space. The exhibition offers a variety of media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, and installation in order to define the limits of schematic representation.

Two events will be held at Gallery Bershad in conjunction with this exhibition and as part of the ongoing Sensorial Series: "Filling-In the Out-Lines" will include a introduction by the curator, a slide talk by Wellington Reiter (an artist in the exhibition and professor at MIT) as well as a brief discussion with Bill Arning of the MIT List Center (whose concurrent exhibition titled Inside Space - Experiments In Redefining Rooms also deals with art and architecture). The second event will showcase local electronic musicians and will explore both conceptual and ambient musical genres in order to bring atmosphere to the space created by the exhibition.
