Mark Anthony Priest received his MFA in painting from Yale University, where his art garnered numerous grants and prizes. He has been an associate professor of painting and drawing at the University of Louisville in Kentucky since 1993. He is the recipient of fifteen honors and awards from the University of Louisville, including Project Completion Grants and Women Research Grants. The Kentucky Arts Council has awarded Priest four fellowships and professional assistance awards. Priest has had solo exhibitions since 1984, which include two in the George Meany Archives Gallery and the American Labor Museum. His group exhibition credits include a show with artist Jacob Lawrence, and exhibitions in several national and international venues. He has been the subject of features in the Washington Post, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and on National Public Radio. His paintings and works on paper are in private and corporate collections across the United States and Europe. This is Priest's first solo show in the Boston area.
