Director Roland Smart & Co-director Maura Jasper

Roland Smart has lived in Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, before moving to the Boston area where he has been for eight years. He was educated at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, and at Tufts University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Art History with a concentration on theory and practice.

Besides directing of Gallery Bershad, and curating the exhibitions there, Roland is a practicing artist who has recently exhibited at the University Gallery at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport Connecticut, at the Gallery @ Green Street in Jamaica Plain, and at the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Prior to Bershad, Roland was a Co-Director at the Starr Gallery, a not-for-profit gallery space, in Newton, Massachusetts.
